I recently began using Vetericyn on my dogs with skin issues. I had read about it on the web. I have a 3 year old Pit bull that recently developed Pyoderma since she moved out here to the country with us. She is a blue black color, and I noticed little bumps under her hair coming up one by one. She gets a good bath at least monthly, was afraid to do more often cause of flea protection. She these scabs under the hair, I did find a couple of ticks on her,but knew they could not all be dead ticks, so I took her to my vet. He said the Pyoderma is a bacterial infection and gave her a 3 week course of antibiotics, which I hate to see her take too often, but if she needs it, she needs it. He showed me 3 bad spots, all on top of each other on the back of her neck. They were very scaly and large areas. The ruff of her neck hair just hid them I guess. I had bought my 1st bottle of the Vetericyn wound spray at a local Tractor Supply. I about left it sitting there when I saw it was $30 for a small (8oz.) bottle! But I got it b/c of all the great reviews I had read about it. That evening, I put some of it on each of the spots with the crusty gunk underneathe ,on her body. Then I moved the hair as best I could and sprayed those 3 places on her neck good. The next afternoon I checked the places. They looked maybe a little better, but very little improvement. I again moved the hair aside and sprayed the lesions well. Before this, I took a comb and combed all the loose scabs, dry skin off that was just kind of hanging there. The next day I looked and all 3 places were TOTALLY GONE!-scabs, flakes, everything! I was really shocked and skepical, so I kept brushing thru her hair and could find nothing! She had only been on Antibiotics for 2 days at that point, so I know it wasn' that! The smaller multiple bumps on her body took much longer to go away, but they did. I would pull the hair away from the skin and spray them good. I expect they took longer b/c she lays on both sides, plus going out to potty and play a little. So, I think you have a great product. From my nursing education and what info I checked on, the formula seems to be some kind of version of bleach made safe for the body, (?) I clean the dogs outer ears with it, inbetween their feet ,etc. My vets ay that they are too young for allergies, but it cannot do anything but help to wipe off the chemicals used on the lawn too,
I also have a 12 week old pup who was born and lived outside until we got him at 6 weeks. i asked the owners about any past skin allergies, etc. They all 3 denied it. Ther couple with the mother dog, and the neighbor who brought down the dad. Most of the pups and adult dogs had what looked like callouses on the elbow/shoulder areas. I assumed it was from being raised outside on this wooden deck. We finally picked a pup, paid and left. I had brought a towel with me cause I suspectd fleas, which I spotted on the pup on the ride home. He got two baths right away as we got in the door and we threw all of our clothes in the washer then! I am paranoid about bugs in my house. The vet saw him the 2nd day I had him and said that he had the "Puppy Pyoderma". Basically, his were from being bitten by the fleas. He was very red and irritated under his arms, which I did not see when we bought him. He had to have a shot of steroids and some antibiotics. The pup's skin is reacting to the bites and hopefuly he will out grow it, he said. They had the same skn condtions but from differnt reasons, and it is not contagious to other dogs or humans. I put the Vetericyn on those places too and they too went away. It is a constant fight tho as we take them outside, he comes in scratching. Sorry for the long story, but I think the product is great, but is is way too expensive! I'm not against anyone making money, but if it were more reasonable in cost, you would sell more. It says don't use it on people, but I use it on myself all the time-why not? I have several places on my hands and arms where the pup's sharp teeth have torn the skin. After cleaning them up, I spray them with the Vetericyn. It does seem to help infection and all of that. I read there is a form made for humans, what is it called and where do you buy it, or is it a prescription strength type thing.?
Well, just some of my experience with the product, but as I said, with the economy, if the price would be more acceptable to some, you could do even more business. I have been frugal with it, but I have used over half of my first bottle. I found I had to saturate the scabby parts well to get them to heal.

Thanks for reading,

I actually cleared up thrush on one horse. And also cleared rainrot and an unusual situation where a horse had some kind of white spots that came up on his face, i took him to the vet and he wasn't sure what it was so I used vetericyn and I feel sure that it cleared it up. I'm glad I found out about vetericyn from RFDTV . THANK SO MUCH, Sylvia
