Is it safe if my dog licks it?
Yes. Although excessive licking should be avoided, if the product is ingested, there are no toxic ingredients.
Does it have a scent?
Paw ‘N Snout Pet Balm is unscented and does not contain any added fragrances. The product does has a very mild, natural scent from the botanical extracts and natural oils and butters.
Can I use this along with other topical skin treatments?
For wounds and skin abrasions that have multiple compromised skin layers, Vetericyn Plus® should be used or contact your veterinarian.
How much should I put on my dog each day?
You can apply Paw ‘N Snout Pet Balm to your dog’s paws, nose, and skin as often as needed. We recommend 2-3 times per day to help maintain healthy skin. Be sure to apply some before heading outdoors during summer and winter to help protect from extreme temperatures or environmental conditions.
Will the product stain carpet, clothing, or furniture?
Although there are no added dyes colorants to the product, it is an oil-based formula and can potentially discolor fabrics.
Is Sodium Hyaluronate the same as Hyaluronic Acid?

Can I use on cuts and scrapes?
No. This product is not intended for use on open wounds. Please use Vetericyn Wound Care products to help clean and aid healing of injuries of that nature. Please contact us or consult with your veterinarian if you are unsure.
How long will it take to see results?
Skin health will show improvements immediately after application. Depending on the severity in dryness or cracking, several days of application may be needed to improve elasticity moisture of the epidermis.
Are there any side effects?
There are no known side effects under normal use conditions.
Does it have SPF?
Paw 'N Snout Pet Balm does not contain sunscreen.
Is there potential for sunburn since it contains oils?
No. It does not put your pet at risk of sunburn any more than other topical skin products.
Does it have an expiration date?
Paw ‘N Snout Pet Balm is a cosmetic product which does not require an expiration date.
How long will it last?
The balm is formulated to be stable over time. For best quality, store in a cool, dry place and replace if you notice changes in smell, texture, or appearance. Please contact us if you have product quality questions.
Can I use this on my cat?
Yes. Vetericyn Paw ‘N Snout Pet Balm is formulated to be safely used on paws, noses, and skin of dogs and cats and can be applied to all mammalian skin.
Is it ok to use in conjunction with medications, prescription dog food, or other oral medications I am currently giving my dog?
There are no known contra-indications that Vetericyn Paw ‘N Snout Pet Balm would cause an adverse reaction with ingestible products. If you are unsure, please consult with your veterinarian.
Will it allow paws/noses to breathe since dogs thermoregulate there?
This balm is formulated to protect and nourish your dog's paws and nose without disrupting their natural skin functions. It contains no antiperspirant ingredients and is designed to be breathable and safe for regular use, helping lock in moisture without interfering with how dogs naturally regulate through their paws and nose.
