- Seasoned Regulatory Professional To Help Guide Growth of Vetericyn and Puracyn Brands -
RIALTO, Calif., Sept. 13, 2011 – Innovacyn Inc., a provider of human and animal
healthcare products, today announced that Dr. Fred Ma has joined the company as
chief medical officer. In this newly created position, Dr. Ma will be responsible for overall
strategic planning and management of clinical, medical and regulatory affairs. He will
also oversee quality assurance in compliance with FDA and international standards,
and will help continue building Innovacyn’s quality management system.
“As we continue the worldwide expansion of our Vetericyn and Puracyn brands, having
Dr. Ma on board will be a tremendous asset. His proven track record and extensive
regulatory experience will help ensure that our products meet every quality and safety
standard required by medical and regulatory agencies,” said Dave Mills, general
manager of Innovacyn.
Prior to Innovacyn, Dr. Ma served as the founder, president and CEO of Medical Quality
International, a consultancy that provides comprehensive regulatory compliance, quality
assurance and business development services. Dr. Ma previously held executive posts
at several pharmaceutical companies, including Johnson & Johnson, Cell Pathways and
Gliatech Medical Inc. During his tenure at these companies, he was responsible for the
clinical, medical and regulatory affairs for product development, as well as regulatory
filing for FDA approvals and manufacturing processes. He led 28 successful product
regulatory approvals (new drugs, medical devices and combination products) in the
United States and worldwide.
Before his career in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries, Dr. Ma was a
board-certified neurosurgeon and oncologist. He received an M.D. from Capital
University of Medical Sciences in Beijing, a D.M.Sc. from Tokyo University, and a Ph.D.
from Rutgers.
